Across the continent we discovered artists creating beautiful contemporary African art. These artisans follow a rich tradition,
creating vibrant and unique works which celebrate the continent.

Until recently indigenous art has been under appreciated or has gone unnoticed by the world. Now the public has been made aware of how it
has influenced the work of such renown artists such as, Pablo Picasso.

Increasingly it is getting the attention that it deserves from galleries and collectors from around the world.

We have a particular love for the country of South Africa and its wonderfully gifted people. Read more about the history of and current trends in South African art.

The contemporary pieces featured were created by artists from and for Africa. They are established or increasingly recognized in the public arena and have exhibited their work in their home country and abroad.

Also featured is work created for Africa by established international artists to support outreach efforts on the continent.

The artwork ranges in style, subject and the media, including acrylic, oil, watercolor, mixed media, photography or fabric art.
